As part of my Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Program in 2017, I was required to write an essay on Newton’s Laws of Motion. “To every action (force applied), there is an equal and opposite reaction (equal force applied in the opposite direction)”.

I recently came across this most relevant composition and thought I would share.

❤ ❤ ❤

Newton’s third law… for every action there is an equal an opposite reaction is evident everywhere upon planet Earth today. What goes up, must come down; day and night; on and off; empty and full; hard and soft; asleep and awakened; light and dark. For any action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

For the purpose of this essay, I am going to use the infamous John Lennon song, Imagine. Lennon composed “Imagine” on a piano in a bedroom at his Tittenhurst Park estate in Ascot, Berkshire, England early one morning in early 1971. Yoko Ono watched as he composed the melody, chord structure and almost all the lyrics, nearly completing the song in one brief writing session.

Imagine by John Lennon. Lennon was asking us to imagine a place where things that divide people (religion, possessions, etc.) did not exist. He felt that such a world would be a much better place. This song is a strong political message that is sugarcoated in a beautiful melody”*.

Let us go through the lyrics, and relate each verse to Newton’s theory:

Imagine there’s no heaven

It’s easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today… Aha-ah…

Heaven and hell. Above and below. Living for today; not living for tomorrow, but for the NOW! To be in a conscious state, an awakened state, we must be living in the NOW. Meditation is a fantastic tool for bringing us into the present moment with the simple practice of consciously following our breath. Imagine all the people on planet Earth living for today. What a wonderful world it would be to have every one of 7.5 billion people living in a conscious state of awakening. Sounds like world peace doesn’t it?!

Imagine there’s no countries

It isn’t hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion, too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace… You…

Imagine there are no countries. No borders or territories to kill or die for. Imagine the world is united, we are one race, one people, living for peace. It is the opposite of our world today with the world divided into many nations, religions, sects and territories, each with borders, boundaries and religions of their own. Lennon mentions religion. Religion is the main cause for conflict in the world. Religion IS a man-made law. Imagine, people fighting, killing and causing mass chaos due to their belief that their ‘higher power’ is the only God. Why would a God ever want anyone to die? God is Love.

You may say I’m a dreamer

But I’m not the only one

I hope someday you’ll join us

And the world will be as one

One must dream to have dreams come true. To dream is to manifest. To manifest means to be clear or obvious to the eye or mind; to have a clear vision of what you desire. Lennon has a vision of peace and universal love. We are living in the opposite of that today. As of today, the world is divided into many nations, religions, sects and territories.

“Conflict is a result of the ego.  The ego is the opposite of love.  You cannot fight against the ego and win, just as you cannot fight against darkness.  The light of consciousness is all that is necessary.  You are that light.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world… You…

Stuff… and more stuff. Houses full, garages, garbage bins, store shelves, grocery stores, even our vast oceans have now become vessels for uncompostable plastic waste, carelessly tossed by the unawakened human. When did we become so full of consuming things to feel complete? Individuals who are awakening in the now are turning to a minimalistic lifestyle… downsizing and simplifying their entire spectrum of what we truly need to live a fulfilling life on Earth. We are living a simpler existence, one that provides the time to travel our beautiful Earth, to explore different cultures, food, sharing in the company of those we love and would like to get to know better, and most importantly, ourselves. It gives us the time to discover who we really are and what our gifts are… what brings us joy! Enjoyment! We, as the people of beautiful Earth, seem to have forgotten about enjoyment. Life is not about obtaining “things”, life is for enjoyment of the experience of living itself!

You may say I’m a dreamer

But I’m not the only one

I hope someday you’ll join us

And the world will live as one

A dreamer vs a realist. I believe you can be a realist and still dream of a better world, to hold the vision of the future for our beautiful planet of peace and love.

Imagine illustrates Newton’s Law with perfect precision. The song, as quoted above, was written in 1971, close to 50 years ago. They say that there are more lightworkers now on earth, and coming to earth in larger numbers than ever before. I believe the 60’s began the influx of our tribe of lightworkers.

“A Lightworker is anyone who devotes their life to being a bright light in the world. They understand that their actions (no matter how big or small) have the potential to raise the vibration of the planet. A Lightworker soul is awake, conscious that theirpresence matters and that they are part of something that is bigger than them”.**

I was introduced to the physical practice of yoga in the fall of 2014. This was the beginning of my ‘awakening’ process, of becoming ‘conscious’; as Eckhart Tolle would say.  Consciousness means living in the ‘now’. This very moment. The ‘snap your fingers’ kind of now. Accept what is. Accept what was. Do not concern or worry yourself with the future as it hasn’t happened yet. LIVE IN THE NOW.  Be a dreamer… dream of world peace and universal love and live consciously, aware of your actions and thoughts. Dreams do come true ❤

Let us together unite as universal consciousness, living sustainably, minimalistically, aware that our thoughts and actions vibrate the web of creation and will manifest in our life or in ourselves. Let us live and vibrate the love of all creatures of Earth and each other. Let us dispose of waste consciously, pick up after ourselves and keep our precious Earth clean!

Sat Nam ❤
